The story begins in the late fifties of the twentieth century, when during a lesson, children are invited to write a message to the future generation, and then put them in a time capsule and close for the next fifty years. Lucinda begins to randomly draw numbers on paper, but she does not have enough time, the sheet is taken away and put in a container. The girl runs away to the closet, where she begins to continue hurriedly writing strange combinations, because a mysterious whisper tells her to do it. It's too hard for her to follow orders, and she tearfully asks that all this finally stop.
At the end of the two thousandth years, the time capsule accidentally gets to Caleb, the son of Professor John Koestler. At first it seemed to him that this was just a meaningless set of numbers, but then he notices that all the dates coincide with the man-made disasters that have passed over fifty years, and the victims of these unfortunate events for humanity have also been correctly clarified. John realizes that the paper does not fall into his hands so easily, because in one of the disasters, his wife died. Now he will have to try to prevent accidents, although one of the last happens right before his eyes when the plane crashes and eighty-one people die in it.
