A young girl is sitting at a table in a cozy cafe in Paris. She receives a letter from her lover, Alexander Pierce. He asks the girl to take the next train to Venice, meet a man who looks like himself. Alexander understands that Eliza is being closely watched by special service agents, and they need to be put on the wrong track. On the train, the girl meets Frank, he is a tourist from America, works as a teacher. During the journey to Venice, there was a liking between them, and upon arrival, the girl convinces Frank to go with her to the hotel.
